I enjoy watching the Tour but I think it's a farse right now. They should cancel the thing, get their act together and come back. It's a total sham right now.
We'd all be foolish if we think drug use is limited to the big TV sports.
In the early 50s I was offered steroids by my doctor. I did not accept them, I know lots of others did. One of the top doctors in his field handed me a bottle of these little pills. They were tiny things. He said they would give me strength, make my muscles large and strong. I read up about them and decided not for me. It was not illegal at that time to take them. I just did not like the ingredients.
Hate to bring this up again. They are back again, up to their old tricks. Do you think it relates only to baseball players, football players and cyclists. The cyclists should not be allowed to compete???
Drugs are related to all sports, even swimmers. I really think they should all be allowed to take whatever they want. There will never be a drug free Olympics. :dedhorse::dedhorse::dedhorse:

Hard to tell if you really believe this. Baseball went this route in the 80s and 90s and take a look at what it has done to the public's perception of the game.
Personally I would love to be able to take something that would make me feel like I was in my 20's and when it becomes safe and legal I will be one of the first in line!

The chief Balco chemist is like the guy brewing meth in his bathtub.He doesn't have an unbiased point of view. There is probably a way to come up with anabolic steroids that would not be harmful at physiologic doses,but at physiologic doses they would provide no performance enhancement except in people with deficiencies.Go above physiologic doses and you have to mess with the bodies feedback loops and the chances you can do that safely are negligible. It would also be very difficult to come up with an anabolic steroid that would not have a potential brain effect(roid rage.)
I believe if you are ever caught and it is absolutely proven you took performance enhancing drugs, then you get a life time ban from sports. Get caught, it is over.....forever. Next!
