I enjoy watching the Tour but I think it's a farse right now. They should cancel the thing, get their act together and come back. It's a total sham right now.
I have to agree. Shut it down. I'm a huge Tour fan, but just can't watch it right now because of my utter disgust at the latest Rasmussen/Vino revelations. I'm sure drugs are everywhere. I guess we can only hope that all cheaters suffer every known side effect.
I have not been following the tour because of this kind of stuff plus what has happened in the past. I just found this link and feel its getting worse.

My mom and I had a big conversation yesterday about how we were so impressed with Vino's "come back" from his accident, especially in Stage 15 after doing so poorly the day before. I was so hopeful that this was for real but made the comment to my mom that he would probably be found having doped. My stomach is sick because of the further black spot this puts on a sport that is good to watch.

It really is a fun sport to watch, with the ever changing conditions, race strategies and the scenic views. I'm sick about the whole thing, it's like these dips***s can't stop themselves.

I could not agree more.
They are now dropping faster than I can keep up. Race leader Michael Rasmussen was booted today. Cycling has officially become the laughing stock of the sports world.

It's all due to the "win/win/win" mentality instilled into so many sports figures and cultures; where second place is NOT having won a Silver but is having lost a Gold; where "winning ugly"* is more important than losing with grace and style; where participation (even in the Olympics) is not in and of itself an honour.......... etc.........
* The actual title of a book written by Tennis coach Brad Gilbert.
These two articles were cited in another thread a while back. They give a better understanding into doping and why it would be so tempting for a professional endurance athlete.
This one gives an interesting history of doping. Read it first because it will provide some technical knowledge that will be useful in the second article.

This one was written by an adult athlete who tried doping to see what it was like.
