Friggin' thieves at the pool...

Had my 120 dollar Oakley's in my TYR goggle case stolen from my backpack while I was taking a shower tonight. The pool manager is going to check his camera DVR for the lobby and entryway to see if the crook was dumb enough to walk out with them exposed. God this makes me mad. The only positive thing about this is that I did not catch the guy in the act...I might be in the pokey right about now. You are all probably much wiser than me, since most of you are older( I'm 31) :p, but you've got to keep your stuff locked up ALL the time. Too lazy to earn something themselves so they take it from somebody else...wastes of precious oxygen IMHO. Sorry for the rant but I just had to vent some frustratrion.

I'm a huge fan of Oakleys. I've had about 5 pairs in the past ten years. They also have a great warranty and will fix/repair/replace any part of the glasses for a year for free. Buy one pair and you are hooked for life, worth every penny. Not me. Mine broke in half after simply taking them off. Waste of my money. I stick with the cheap sunglasses now and they last longer.

Tom Buckley my swim coach as a kid used to tell us, "If you have $2.00 eyes, then wear $2.00 sunglasses." Oakley's rock....but I am old school with my Ray Bans....Heck, I've seen the world ten times over behind a pair of Ray Bans.... If I caught some dirt ball taking my stuff in the locker room, he would most likely get some well earned lessons in falling down and getting up in the parking lot.....The only thing worse then a thief is a cheater.

I can't stand it either. "Someone stole my Mojo!"

Darth: Thank goodness the thief did not take your VO2MAX SHAMPOO...that would have been justification for hand removal.

My theft experience was years ago at Lindsay Park, now called the Talisman Center (someone stole the name!). I came back from the weight room to find the contents of my locked locker all over the floor, along with a bunch of other people's stuff. My wallet was gone, but appeared a few days later in the trash of a downtown office building, from which a security guard called me. When I described some possible suspects to an investigating officer over the phone - a group of teenage girls walking around the running track in street shoes and clothes, looking around them at everything - she started giving me a long-winded lecture about not judging by appearance and age. As if I didn't practically live in the place and recognize most of the track club kids. Now I leave my clothes, usually old ones, in an unlocked locker and take anything valuable onto the pool deck with me in my swim bag. It's black, so things like my black nylon wallet just disappear in it. As for sunglasses, I like Ryders. Good quality, and not so expensive that I feel devastated when I leave them behind somewhere, as I'm unfortunately prone to doing.
