I can relate to this part for sure. I used to enjoy any sort of swimming pool regardless of lane lines, ropes, or otherwise but now a pool without lanes lines, ropes, and a good gutter system seems like a waste of time to me. When we go to the pool club for the kids I eagerly await the top of the hour because they give a 15 minute window for lap swimming. The pool has no gutters, no ropes, and is shorter than 25Y but it is such a nice break from the screaming kids during the balance of the hour.
