Heard a talk yesterday by a former olympian. He said that his former coach (new head coach of local swim club my child is a member of) used to have them do a 1650 butterfly in practice. I'm sure this was only the most senior swimmers, but still, scary. Any thoughts?
I'm guessing that was a rather unusual workout. Mostly because shoulders wouldn't take that day after day. Probably a one time winter break set?! Just my guess.
A couple of us did something like that a couple of weeks ago. We did our warm up then did 10 lengths, 9, 8, etc down to 1. IT was hard, but we got through it, plus when you get down to only doing 4 you know you're almost done. I wanted to kill the guy who wanted to do it, but then I remembered it was me!
