I think I found the best music for long distance swimming-probably best for a long Ocean Swim........... "Dub Side Of The Moon" by the Easy Star All Stars.
It's an awesome remake of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon by Reggae Artists. They plan to cut a remake of Radiohead also.
Anyone listen to it?

I think you should have left an "other" choice in that Poll......I have never heard of the band you mentioned....but a reggae version of Dark Side of The Moon sounds very interesting. I like reggae and can see how it would match well with long distance swimming but I'm not sure yet what genre of music for long distance swimming I think I would prefer yet. I have read that Brian Goodel use to play "Radar Love" by Golden Earing in his head when he swam long distances at practice and at meets....What Genre does that song fall under?....Is it just considered regular old Rock music? I like Jam Band Music a lot and think it should match well here too....Bands like Southern Culture on The Skids, Wide Spread Panic, String Cheese.....there's an awesome jam band stationed in Memphis named Stout....I have one of their albums titled "On The Rocks"....They sound like a mixture of many other jam bands with a vocal style similar to that of the Black Crows.

p.s. Parliament would work well....thats Psychodelic Funk...or P-Funk for short.....String Cheese (AKA The String Cheese Incedent) can also be classified as Psychodelic Bluegrass....Other Psychodlic bluegrass artists include: Bella Fleck, Sam Bush, and The New Riders.
