Okay. So my university team has our conference meet in the begining of february (4 weeks away!) down in Atlanta at Emory.
I really want to go.
I'm still injured.
My coach has said that when I'm able to do consistant flip turns and starts (ie, minimal to no pain) she'll put me in a meet.
I don't know when that's going to be.
I'm worried that if I'm not going to be swimming in the conference meet, she won't let me go and I'll miss one of the coolest experiences of my college life. That makes me sad, and hence the freaking out.
I mean, if she can only take a certain number of people and we're over the limit, I'd understand if she'd want me to stay home. But...if she has space to take me....I want her to!
I mean, I know I can't control the healing of my back. All I can do is dilligently do my rehab and swim as best I can. And hope, I guess.
I'm thinking of maybe going to see my coach during the day tomorrow to ask her about this....but...well...I'm not sure if it's a good idea, and I have no idea what to say!
Agh.......... I'm so upset.

I say definately talk to your coach. How can she know you really want to go if you don't voice it. I would tell her exactly what you told us....you really want to go..will work your hardest...and don't make me stow-away on the plane. Teams need cheerleaders....
and stop freaking out...you'll be fine. :D Go eat some Fig Newtons and take a hot bath...that makes everything better.
You should certainly let her know you want to go, but the conference meet might be something you have to earn your way to. I swam all four years in college and was only able to go to the conference meet my last two years.
