It is known that chlorine is toxic. However, there seems to be not much research done on the correlation between swimming and cancer.
Anyone has any thoughts about it?

Caution: No one gets out of this alive. If you swim outdoors and not in the pre-dawn or post-dusk hours, use a waterproof SPF 30+ sunscreen or wear a UV rated rash-guard as the sun is a much more dangerous object than chlorine. If you're worried about chlorine exposure don't swim . . . if you look for trouble, you can always find it.
go have a beer and watch the rose bowl
:D
This should cheer you up *sigh*

And this bibliography should satisfy the medical academics among us:

In all seriousness, life is full of risks. Tragically, a cyclist was mowed down outside my apartment complex this AM; I'm fairly sure that I'm developing arthritis in my hips from running, and there's a chance that I could get killed driving to practice. You get the idea.
I'm thinking of going back to swimming, but this whole cancer thing has freaked me out. :(
Any doctors in the house?

Dude or Dudette.. bummer All those years of swimming. not to mention when we played in Florida as kids behind the Mosquito foggers that used DDT... now I have to worry about the years of chlorine and swimming thru chlorine shocked pools? .... what the hell.....live hard die free...I love the smell of chlorine in the morning.. see you at practice!
I love a good tan derived from outdoor aquatic sports . . . but since I want to stick around for my six-year old, I get my pre-cancer lesions screened and removed every 3 months and use waterproof SPF 30+ now . . . after spending my youth applying baby oil while lifeguarding on my nordic body, I now have to be careful for the sake of my family.
Thanks for the feedback. I will just cut down number of sessions per week, and finish the sets as quick as possible and get the hell out of the soup. What else can you do.
