Why swimming is better than diving...

Because when you swim you can't do this: www.corriere.it/.../TUFFO4.jpg Ow. Ow. Ow. Fortunately, she escaped with no horrible injury...I've included the story below: MONTREAL (AFP) - US diver Chelsea Davis smacked her forehead into the 3m springboard during the preliminary competition at the World Swimming Championships but escaped serious injury. "Chelsea has no fracture, maybe just a little chip fracture but basically her nose was not broken," said US diving team leader Bob Rydze. "The plastic surgeon is putting two or three stitches up on the bridge of her nose. That's the only place she was cut. "She knew she hit the board, and she knew what dive she hit the board on, which was a very good sign. A lot of times divers hit the board and forget on what dive they hit the board."

  • I remember a high school meet, where our three divers were way behind the guy from the other team. We silently used our voodoo dolls, and lo-and-behold, on his last dive the guy landed FLAT on the water. He was stunned, taken to the hospital as a precaution, but was okay. Stange feeling, to be happy that our divers placed ahead of this guy, but bad that we were joking about him wiping out, just before he did.
