ADT therapy for prostate cancer

I’m a 69 year old masters swimmer. Very shortly I will be starting hormone therapy for prostate cancer. It will take my testosterone levels down to almost nothing. This treatment has a myriad of side effects. Tiredness and muscle mass loss are the two that pertain to swimming. Just reaching out to others who may have already gone through this. Wondering if you were still able to compete in meets or any other advice you might have. Looks like I’m gonna be on this for six months.

  • I had my prostate removed a year ago. I had a chemical relaps where my psa started rising again. I have a genetic test that indicated I had a high risk of metastasis. In addition to the hormone therapy I’m having 38 radiation treatments. Praying that will do the trick.
