USMS Nationals qualifying

I am a USA swim coach and also registered athlete. I recently swam a USMS qualifying time in the 1650, but did it at a USA swim meet as a USA swimming athlete. Does it count? If not, do I need to travel to a masters meet that offers the 1650? That seems difficult.

  • You can work with your records/top ten person in your LMSC to get your times added to the USMS database. If your swim was done in a bulkhead pool, you need to provide measurements with a pool length certification form or your times will get automatically rejected.

To make this short: theoretically, it is possible to have your time count for USMS. Practically, it depends on a few things.

  • Agreed that he needs to work with his LMSC Top 10 person to get his times added to the USMS database.  As long as the pool is on the USMS list as ok, his times for Top 10 do not need bulkhead measurements, whether or not the pool has a bulkhead.  Those are only needed from USA meets if there is a USMS record set.
