Bob Dylan rules! He's one of the best lyricists of the 20th century (in my opinion) right up there with Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and Paul Simon ... and I didn't grow up with hippie parents and I'm under 25 (for a few more months)

You all would have liked this I think. The last time I went to Seattle I went to the EMP (experience music project), and the feature exhibit was on Bob Dylan. It was amazing. They had some of his guitars, hand written orginal lyrics, info on his career. It was really cool. Definately made me appreciate him even more.

and as a die hard (& finally vindicated) Red Sox fan, everyone should see a game @ Fenway. Tonight I'm going to Pac Bell Park (or whatever it's called these days to see the Giants). Yawn game, but a great park. Karen, you just made me feel old. ;) The EMP in Seattle sounds incredible!! I'm sooooo jealous. Bocelli has an amazing voice & Elton John is awesome in concert! The WORST concert ever??? Billy Idol. He was disgusting & if I remember right, he peed on stage. Nice. I believe Oakland politely asked him to choose other venues in the future. The concert I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember? Survivor & REO Speedwagon. I thought I should "stock up" on rum & coke in the parking lot since I was too young to buy beer inside. I vaguely remember Survivor coming on stage. Several yrs. later, my friend & I were talking about being passed out in the back of car w/ someone getting a ride home from a friend. ....um, we were the 2 in the back. Ahhh, high school..... :)

Rum and coke is evil ... seriously had one (or 5) too many once and couldn't drink coke for weeks, was ready for rum and something else the next day though ...

Keather, my buddy! you're cool. I still love REO & Journey. Rock on! rum & juice is good. If it's 100% juice, you can almost convince yourself it's good for you ;)

lol ... very true ... rum and juice it is! Remember beer has barley, and that is good for you, wine has grapes and those are good for you ... most alcohol has a fruit or grain base, therefore most alcohol is good for you (is there any type of alcohol that doesn't?) that is the extent of my math skills!

I probably should not post this…but it was hilarious….. Last summer I went out with this cute 25 year old for a few months…The first night we were in my car alone she pops off with, “Gee, what kind of music do you listen to…with a subtle jab in the middle of the question.” I smiled and told her not to worry that I left all my Lawrence Welk CD’s at the house. She got this deer in the headlights look on her face..and said, “Who’s Lawrence Welk? At that point I LOL and said, “Never mind!”

That reminds me of a scene from Clueless where the guy (Christian) comes and picks up Alicia Silverstone and he asks her is she likes Billie Holiday and she said, Oh I love him. Or something along those lines and he just goes yeah ....
