I planned to swim at Nationals this year in Fort Lauderdale but was just diagnosed with a metatarsal stress fracture in my right foot... I still want to swim and try not to put much pressure on my right foot. Does anyone have experience competing with this type of injury? Also, this is typically a runner's injury and I have not run at all since last summer. Can this be caused from just pushing off the wall repeatedly?

if your doctor said it will take 6 weeks to heal it's probably type I. If it was any other type it would take a) longer to heal b) your doctor would have told you no sports, not even swimming and c) sometimes you have to undergo surgery.
