Does EVERYONE come out of the pool with deep goggle impressions around their eyes? I'm 51 y/o and don't need extra bags or creases! The goggle marks diminish eventually, of course, but stay fairly noticeable for hours. I have to strap them on tight to keep water out and fog. Anyone have the perfect goggles to recommend? Or this is just par for the course?

My old Nod and Shakes were great. I used to order these 50 at a time, paid $7.00 for them and sold them for $50.00 to the other swimmer and spectators. I would sell out at many of the races. Iused to sell between100 and 200 pair a year. Good pocket money.
I used to buy them from a little factory in Buffalo NY but have not been able to find them since the plant closed. Some one in California bought the right to make them??? They were originally made for people working in the Chemical Gas business.
They never leaked and never fogged up.

I'm going on 45 :D and definitely have racoon eyes after workout that somehow keep taking longer and longer to go away.
How bad they are does depend on the goggles I wear. I have to wear kids' goggles because I have a small face and eye sockets - I got 2 pairs of speedos in California last year that are wonderful and leave almost no sign, but I can't find the same ones in Italy. I got a slightly different pair, and the rings around my eyes age me about 10 years. bummer!
But, they work...
I'm with Heidi. I wear the TYR socket rockets, and they don't leak, or leave horrible little rings around my eyes.
I've also used the Speedo Women's Vanquisher, and they work wonderfully as well.
Perhaps, if y'all are having trouble with rings, and have to tighten your goggles so much that they leave marks on your eyes, you aren't wearing the right goggles for your face shape/eye width.
Simple test: Press your goggles to your eyes without putting the straps over your head. Without making any funny faces or scrunching your nose up, if the goggles don't stay suctioned for at least a few seconds, they're going to leak unless you imbed them into your sockets.

I've had good luck with Tyr's Advant, and I am also a woman of approaching age... goggle eyes are not too bad, leaks are few, and comfort is good. In fact I just ordered the metallized version to use in outdoor events.
I also use the speedo women's vanquisher and they are pretty good...
I did notice somthing though. Initially I used to press pretty hard on the goggles for a good tight suction so that there was no leek and even with the vanquishers would get a pretty good goggle mark that lasted for awhile.
However...... one magical day I didn't press as hard on the goggles because I was rushing before the next set started and lo and behold!!! they didn't leak, but they felt MUCH more comfortable around my eye. I kept that same amount of pressure for the rest of practice and received hardly any eye marks!
I will say though that it is not easy finding the happy medium with the amount of pressure placed on the goggles. too little and they start to leak, too much and good ole goggle eyes...though I do think that some types of goggles do this more than others..
Also, depending on your eye shape, you may need to try a few before you can find whatever fits your eye with less needed suction for a more comforable fit.
hope this helps..
