On that little spark in the upper RIGHT corner...I keep seeing it highlighted with a red dot. I click on it and it tells me that a member of my LMSC wants to connect with me. (Is that like “friending” someone on Facebook?) I want to accept it but there isn’t an accept button...Just “View” or “Delete.” How do I accept it?

When you click on the notification it should link you to it and give you the ability to accept. Yes it is like friending. You can also follow members, request to friend and send direct message. You'll see those option when you hover over a profile name. you can try it on any of the blue profile name links on this page.
