After my four month lay off and three weeks of fooling around in the pool, I have started my 1000 meters a day, sometimes twice a day. Can I at 72 years of age get my 50 free under 30, my 100 free under 1:07 and my 50 fly under 32 ??? I think I can. Todays workout. 300 m warmup varied strokes no complete breaststroke, arms only. No devices such as paddles, floats, fins, or kick boards. 500 m swimming, today all crawl 4 x 25 in 16 sec. on 30 3 x 50 in 44 sec. on 1:30 2 x 75 in ? no longer watching the clock on 2 min. 1 x100 holding form. Am I ever out of shape. 200 m very sloppy swim. George www.swimdownhill.com

I self measured today wing span 77 & 1/8th inches tip of fingers to tip. I am 6' 2 3/4 inches tall. Some say I have long arms. I have been measred by another person and they got a measurement of 79 inches it was measured from my backside. My chest may have caused a difference today as my self measurement the arms may have been intereferred with.

Thanks Swimshark Swim was 16 sec, for the 25meters, start the next 25 on the 30 seconds. I have always been a clock watcher. We have big timing clocks, at each end I am not able to do that at the momment but I am able to do 18sec without killing my self. The 50s are about 55 seconds. In 1998 I was doing my 50s in 35to 37 seconds.

Thanks for explaining. Really terrific! How old were you when you were at the peak of your swimming record, George?
