I am working out in a pool that does not have blocks, so obviously I time myslef from a push start. My question is:what should I expect my times to be if I start from blocks vs. push off the wall, what is the time difference between the two?

  • You may want to count your strokes off the wall -v- your deck start, especially with ***. My *** block start shaves about 2 strokes off of my 1st 25-yd stroke count. So not only do you have the extra time 'push' from the block/deck but you have extra endurance from not taking those strokes, which you then use to push yourself a little extra throughout.
