Super teams

I got cut-off and the incomplet posting went up - sorry... - USMS would need to require you to register in the LMSC that you live - USMS would have to limit the size of clubs within LMSC to prevent the formation of "superteam" I'm sure neither of these would be acceptable to many swimmers within USMS, and would not get endorsed by the rules committee nor the HOD. I can't oppose or support something that isn't defined. If/when there is a proposal I'll form an opinion. Part of the proposal would have to include how a team is put into one category or another and that's most likely what is going to help me decide. I don't think anyone is holding your size or cohesiveness against you. Your team is a very good one. I wish the team well and hope for much future success. I just don't see it as the poster child for changing the system. That's all.

You are right and I completely forgot about the clown suit. Maybe next year but only if you come again!

Click on Account Info and edit options. There's a spot where you can check yes to have them inserted in the post of no to have them as a url. Mine show up in the post. I just switched to see what would happen with the url. The url showed in the post. I clicked on it and the attached opened.

Did you see the picture of the USMS card? If so then I think you are seeing the attachments and you have seen all there is to see. If not then Account Info at the top of this page. Edit Options should be the third link from the left. Thread View Options is the section and then Show image attachments and code in Posts?

So do we. 4) We have many team functions (parties, swims, awards, clinics, dinners, etc.) We don't really do this much in SKY, either in the clubs or the teams. Most of us barely have time to squeeze workouts in, much less parties. But I would like to do this. It would be fun! 5) We support each other during practices with good examples and encouraging words. We do this too, though mainly via email and when we see each other at meets. 6) We actively recruit "old" swimming friends to join our team. Most of the people on our team have age-group experience. So do we. 7) We have team apparel and caps. So do we. 8) For the most part we all get along really well. So do we! 9) Most of all we have fun. Because if it's not fun it's not Walnut Creek Masters swimming. So do we! You don't have a monopoly on that! 10) When we signed up for Masters we joined Walnut Creek Masters, an individual club team. Well, obviously I can't give a "so do we" response to that! But I fundamentally disagree with your thesis that we are not a club because we aren't set up the same way you are. I think we have more in common than it might first appear on the surface. One more misconception I'd like to correct: we don't compete as SKY only for Nationals. We also compete as SKY at "mini-meets" we hold throughout the year. Meg

I had a thought. Perhaps Geek and I could drive to Raleigh once a month and train with Fritz. Afterwards, we could go out for beer and pizza. We could even exchange birthday cards. Mine's Feb. 9.

You've got to be getting almost as old as me.
