You are praying that the meet on Sunday is not going to be cancelled because there is a big snow storm coming on Saturday and it is supose to last until Sunday.

When you hope the meet on Sunday doesn't last to long because you have to get home to watch the Steeler's in the playoffs.

Shannan--rarely does the CMU 1650 last until late in the afternoon. The couple I've been at have ended before 3:30 which should get you home in plenty of time for the 6:30 kickoff. And since many of the participants live within walking distance (depending on the temperature) -- doubtful it will be cancelled. Alot of people from Squirrel Hill and the campus area attend--alot of new faces that you won't see at the normal Y meets.

Actually I am swimming at the Allegheny Valley meet.
  • Time to move to California? :) Although, I love it back East. My husband's family is from CT and we visit a couple of times/year. My father-in-law thought (still does) that I was nuts because I WANTED to shovel the snow off the driveway. Something new for me. I can imagine it would get old pretty fast...

When you have to swim a meet the next day with sore arms and shoulders because you helped shovel snow out of four driveways and five walkways.

Nothing .... and I mean nothing.... can keep me from watching this game. In the morning, I will be either swimming to burn off frustration or the excess energy generated from watching a win. And as for the snow - I love it. Our driveway is downhill about 20 yards. I won't clear it until late Sunday night (after the Steelers' game). Until then, the kids and I will be sledding. My wife would be to - if it wasn't for that pregnancy thing. We never remove the snow until the last possible minute. There's too much fun to be had!

Our driveway is flat but we have a nice hill in our back yard. If we really want to go for a good ride the alleyway behind us is very steep and is one of the last roads to be cleared. Well our meet wasn't canceled. I did fairly decent although my shoulder and especially my elbow hurts a lot. Because a lot of people didn't show up it only lasted two hours so I was home in time for the game. Unfortuntally the best team did not win. Msgrupp- I heard the CMU meet got canceled.
  • How can I find out about meets in PA? I can't find a website for the LMSC and nothing is on the calendar link. I found info on Y meets near Pittsburgh but nothing on the other meets like the one you mentioned at CMU.

I know what you mean. I felt that way after a long afternoon of sailing in December (I believe it was in the mid 70s that day).
