What do you charge to advertise in your newsletter?

We've never had any advertising in the North Carolina newsletter and now we have someone asking what it would cost to place an ad. I have no idea what is reasonable. Our newsletter would go to about 800 people. If you have any idea what your newsletter charges or any other ideas about how we should go about this, I'd really like to hear what you have to say.

I do fundraisnig for area nonprofits, the hardest thing in the world is to get people to advertise in a newsletter. You are very lucky. Generally, I've asked for about 50% of the cost of printing. Consider how much you pay to have your website maintained? concider that cost also. Is it a swim-related business, especially if it sells swim wear, it will get lots of business form your readers.
