Washing Suits

Since I've been out of the water, pretty much, for the last couple weeks and I'll be starting back up Monday I thought this would be a good time to throw my suit in the washer. Has anyone ever read the tag on their suit? I laughed when I read it "wash after every use in cold water." Come on now! Who's going to do that? I'm pretty sure I've owned suits that never saw the inside of a washing machine. Does anyone actually wash their suits regularly? Maybe I'm just gross :D

I rinse mine while in the shower at the gym. When I get home to get into the house, I have to walk through the mud room where the washer is located, so I drop the suit in the washer and add some of the suit saver solution, but no soap. I've heard that soap and shampoo are bad for suits. I also stop the washer before it spins and squeeze the water out myself then hand it up to dry. Guess that qualifies for washing after every use. Someone on this board posted a 'homemade' suit saver solution awhile ago and I have lost it. Who ever it was could you please post it again. THANKS! Lainey
