Does anyone have expert knowledge as to diving from a 3 meter platform with swimming goggles. Is there any danger to the eyes?

We were told as swim coaches not to allow goggles to be worn for high dives, due to the danger of eye injury.
I have not looked into the research to support this but we have no high diving boards within an hours drive form here, so it is not of much relevance for my swimmers.
