Any suggestions out there with regard to tapering? We've been swimming a very intense 3,800-4,000 yards 4x weekly for 2 months now. However, with Y-Nats coming up Apr 15-18, we should be starting to taper tommorow. Any suggestions as to yardage/specifics??

No it's not. Everyone tapers differently. When I swam in college I needed a nice long 3-4 week taper. What worked best for me was going from about 7k meters down to 3k meters by dropping about a 500 every other day. I was also a distance swimmer. I've known sprinters that like to taper down to a 1000 and some even less.
