Lets have some real fun, Olympic predictions. I am starting with the men.
Phelps could win: My predictions for winning times:
100 fly 50.5
200 fly 1:52.5
200 backstroke 1:53.0
200 IM 1:54.0
400 IM 4:04.0
Medley relay USA
I have been following his improvement in breaststroke, he could also be world class in that stroke one day. A couple of 400 IMers are world class in the 200 ***, 2:12 or better. Phelps no longer looses ground to them
Phelps could also swim the 200 free, probably go 1:45.3 but I doubt that would win.
Also the 200 breaststroke will take a 2:07 to win There will be 3 swimmers below 2:10.
The 100 breaststroke will probably go at 58.2, but Moses has a 57.5 in him. All depends on how well he swims. There are at least 5 swimmers who could win the 100. Hardest thing in the world is to swim great on just one day out of many years of training.
Any more predictions from others? I am sure Swim Magazine will have their predictions out soon.
Women, the only prediction I have is the 200 breaststroke:
Amanda at 2:21.2 She is race hardened, she can swim well on any day of the week, any week. World Cup has moved her to another level.

I think that your winning time predictions are a little off. I really doubt that anyone goes a 1:53.0 in the 200 back in the next 10 years. Anyhow, I do see him winning 8 medlas, and probably 7 golds. The US should win all 3 relays (yes even the 800) and I expect Phelps to be on all of the relays. The 2 IM races are just about locks, so that puts the medal count at 5. The 200 fly should be no problem (6). It is the rest of the events that I question.

It is not inconceivable that Phelps win less Gold medals that Ian Crocker, here's why:
People are going to be REALLY surprised when Crocker wins the 50, and 100 free at the trials, but believe me he will. He will probably smash the world record in the 50. I also expect Crocker to be the difference make in the 800 free relay. Crocker is actually the best swimmer in the world right now, but he will lay "low" until the Olympic Trials (Word on the street is that he won't taper for NCAA's but that was only heard from a cousin of a friend of a brother if you know what I mean).
I also think that Crocker is just about a lock to win the 100 fly at the Olympics. Here is why: lately Crocker has been turning in UNBELIEVABLE times for Texas. He split a 20.00 in the 50 fly, went a 19.41 in the 50 free and gone a 45.4 on a relay. And (this is not rumor) he has gone a 52 in the 100 meter fly (LC) multiple times in practice. Something changed the day he beat Phelps in the 100 fly, and everyone who trains with him knows it.

So Phelps I think Phelps has an equal shot at winning the 100 fly as he does the 200 back or 200 free.
PS: Crocker will also mess things up because Phelps will not be on the 400 medly relay in finals unless 1) he beats crocker in the 100 fly 2) he wins the 100 back (has to be on his mind) 3) he beats Lezak/hall/ervin/walker/??? in the 100 free.
