for the last couple of weeks i have reduced my swim sessions from 3 times per week to 2. I have noticed a vast improvement in my swimming maybe not my times(which havent really altered)but my technique has improved and also my breathing(bi lateral). Also after the swim i feel on a great high!!!and not so drained maybe i was overdoing it before....

My schedule is not regular enough to set a consistent swimming time. Some times I will go every other day for a couple of weeks, then other times I will go five days in a row and then miss three or four days. When I do 4 or 5 days in a row, I find that my cardio is better on the fifth day, but my muscle endurance is not as good. But if I miss two or three days then get back in it's the opposite. Usually if I miss two or three days, my best swim is the second day back on. Seems to put my cardio back up without my muscles being too tired yet. Wish I could be more consistent, but I have learned to go when I can because I might miss several days. Although the most I have done is 6 days in a row. I will skip the seventh day, even if I am able to go. My muscles just need a break.

Check out Emmit Hines Book "Fitness Swimming" It sets out workouts and 6 week plans. It is extremely helpful, and is good about arranging drills so that they build on each other. My workouts have become much more productive since I began using Coach Hines workouts and his workout schedules. Hook'em Blue
