I believe that I will probably be swimming backstroke in Purgatory while forced to do calculus problems. What type of twisted individual would create a stroke where you could not see where you were going.
Back in the dark ages when I swam AAU, I swam breaststroke. I had a decent 100 fly and would compete in the 400 IM. I would blaze with the pack in the 100 fly, get dropped in the back, and have to hump the *** stroke, usually I came back in a coffin with the free.

Fly, I just don't get yet. my legs sink way to much and it becomes almost impossible to recover for the next stroke. I think my timing of the kicks/strokes is off causing the problem.
Probably true. Are you breathing every stroke? Your head coming out of the water will cause your legs to drop. Try breathing "one up, one down" and see if this helps.
Also make sure your head is back in the water before your arms finish their recovery.
Back to the topic: my least favorite stroke is ***. It's my worst stroke and always has been.
Freestyle is my favorite. I have grown to like backstroke. I used to hate it until I made myself swim it more when I was rehabing my shoulder. I don't enjoy breaststroke at all because I never feel like I'm going fast. I just feels S..L..O..W! I'm working on it though.;)
Either back or fly. I am new to swimming and still learning these two.
I am over the fear of not seeing on the back, but still am not smooth. But I think as I become smoother, I will like this one.

Love to do freestyle. Especially after the other three strokes. I always feel like I am screaming down the lane!:D
