Well, since my child was in the dog house and sentenced to riding the bus for a week, I never made it to the school's nat for a swim last week (and sorely missed it), so I can't chime in here.
However, I did spend each day doing some amount of Pilates. I'm told this is a very good supplement to swimming, and with all the focus on strengthening the "power house", i.e., torso muscles, I can understand how that is so. Does anyone else do Pilates, and if so, have you noticed a difference in your speed, endurance or technique?
Anyhow, I figure that with the snow shovelling and Pilates of last week, I'm off the hook (exercise-wise) for not swimming, although neither is anywhere near as enjoyable, and I'm looking forward to getting back in the water tomorrow!
Cheers!
