keeping track of meters swam--?

How do you keep track of your meters swam? I always forget where I am...and probably either over or under swim most of the time. Believe me, I'd rather just swim the 1000, rather than make it a 1300. Especially for the postal swim---my lands, how do you keep track of that???!!! jerrys

    Another thing that I do on longer swims is count my strokes/laps together. Say I have done 2 laps and am breathing every third stroke. I will count in my head 1...2...2...1...2...2 Then later after completing 8 laps (and while swimming the 9th) I will count 1...2...8...1...2...8 Sounds weird, but it works for me.
