now this is just an idea.Do you think being ambitious helps not just in swimming but in life. The reason i ask is that every time i get ambitious in the water i tend to either flop or pull something?
on the other deck of cards ...when im just enjoying my swim i tend to swim much faster.....????is this coincidence???

perhaps i was just too ambitious with this post as it seems to have flopped also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Use guided ambition and calculated risks.
Taken to extremes, just about anything can become harmful.
Extremes can mean too much, and not enough.
Something to think about...
BALANCE
PS. Being a chick, I'm a big fan of exclamation points, but that was too many. ;)
Connie, you are so funny! Your posts make me smile! Sparx, I think you have to step back and think of using your ambition for long-term goals! Don't try too hard too soon. Set some reachable long-term goals. Then take those long-term goals and divide them into a fewer short term goals that can mark your progress! I used to overdo it all the time til I learned this lesson! GOOD LUCK!
Ambitions are so subjective, and they cannot be quantified by normal standards. Give life your very best, give swimming your very best and you will have won! Won because you walked into the Arena and have given it your best. Regardless of whether you win or lose if you give it your best…you have won! THAT is a fact!
on wednesday night i got ambitious in the pool and hey i did greeeat....i thought everything was wonderful..good swim good times i was on a roll.....then i went to shower and seeing two nice looking women in the shower area continued....the moment my foot touched the shower floor there iwas...sliding ...the soap was thick and fast!!!!!!!!!!i slid right about 2 metres thinking i was going to fall put my hand out...............................................
but then the slide stopped...the two women waited with baited breath(english pun) .i said i nearly" went " then ...this was met with a civilised smile...after two minutes showering i thought off i go to get dressed..i casually looked around ..only to find the two women laughing uncontrollably!!!red faced i retired for the night........dam that ambition...
Hi Sliding Sparx :D
See, us cats have perfected the "I meant to do this" unphased cool look after stuff like this happens.
I do that every time I bump into the wall, run over a curb with my car, trip myself up walking on a flat surface, walk into a glass door...
As for the girls, you just may have scored a few points there. A guy that lets you take care of him a little bit (to a degree) plays into our maternal instinct and gets attention. (After we're done laughing) Just don't overdo the 'take care of me' act. ;)
