Shocking and sad news. Every time I read about a swimmer's premature death I thought, that shouldn't happen! I'm glad I read his book Total Immersion when I just began to take up swimming, so that I knew what common mistakes to avoid.
By the way, after reading the NY Times article I just realized I pronounced his last name wrong all along.
