How sad! I had some posts going back and forth with him myself. He was very helpful regarding my miserable butterfly, and I ended up buying his video, "Better Fly for Every Body."
I am so sorry to hear of his death. He was quite the swim guru to many people, and he was a nice guy!
Very sad news! I hardly knew of him, because I am so new to the sport, but, it seems he had quite a big impact, including for himself as a swimmer. I just bought his latest book because it's inspiring to learn about someone making gains later in life.
He was a great guy and had such dedication to the sport. His book was the one that motivated me to get back into the water after a long lay-off. He will be greatly missed.
He made the New York Times!

Anna Lea!! Welcome back on the Forums! :welcome: I hope you and Jim are doing well! Will you send me a PM and let me know how (and where!) you are now? I would love to hear from you! :agree:
Meanwhile, thanks for posting the link!
Terry was a great friend and consistent swim buddy. We have hundreds of miles logged together in many beautiful locations. This past week has been one of mourning and celebration and deep reflection. I don't know if there is another person as passionate about swimming....
This is a lengthy interview, but It just might change the way you look at swimming, and life in general
Missing him very much already.......

Shocking and sad news. Every time I read about a swimmer's premature death I thought, that shouldn't happen! I'm glad I read his book Total Immersion when I just began to take up swimming, so that I knew what common mistakes to avoid.
By the way, after reading the NY Times article I just realized I pronounced his last name wrong all along.
