I apologize if this has been asked before; I searched and didn't find anything about shoulder pain.
How do you know for sure your shoulder pain is from swimming? I've watched videos and read information about it, but I'm wondering what YOU think. Mine doesn't hurt WHEN I swim, only when I'm NOT swimming. Sometimes there's a pain that goes down my arm a little bit. I read that you can hang from a bar and that actually helped! Thanks in advance!
I went to see a spine specialist who did an x-ray and MRI on my neck and there was nothing wrong. In fact he said my neck was pretty darned good especially for someone my age. When we moved to Maryland I had to find a new physical therapist. She specializes in the McKenzie technique. I was skeptical because it's not your traditional pt. But after even a week I could feel the pain disappear. I no longer have neck pain and almost all my shoulder and upper back pain is gone.
Here's a link that offers a simple explanation: www.fultonmassagetherapy.com/.../
