Do you wash your swimsuit? I'm talking about putting it in the regular laundry with your other dirty clothes. I don't think I've ever "washed" any of my suits. I feel like it's clean enough coming out of the pool, and then showered in. A couple of years ago I became the sole launderer for my family. We have an in-ground pool and in the summers my work-at-home wife likes to lounge by the pool. But she's a 'bather' and not a fitness swimmer like us. Yet she puts her suits in the laundry. I think it's weird, but it's not a fight I'm going to take on. Just wondering if others wash their swimsuits.

With my workout suit I rinse it in the shower. With my tech suit, I fill a trash can with water the night before so that in will be dechlorinated the next day. I take off the suit immediately after the race and rinse it in cold water(I put on my warm up suit to warm down. ) When I get back to the hotel, I rinse the suit again in the dechlorinated water.
I usually just rinse and wash the suit in the shower (cold water) after workout. But lately, cold water has been problematic here... Turn on the cold water tap full blast and it still comes out lukewarm. The "feels-like" temp in central TX was in the 110s yesterday, actual hi was 105!
This thread is getting hilarious. Someone could do a documentary on the care and feeding of Masters Swimmers. The section on caring for swimsuits could be potentially hilarious.
I can say I have seen variations of all of the above during my time with USMS.
Related question--anyone use those special swimsuit wash mixes (like this one--www.speedousa.com/.../style-753393) I've used many of the methods described above, but picked up a bottle of this wondering if it really made a difference. Jury's still out. But I bought the stuff too recently to judge.

Whatever comes out of the squirty thing at the YMCA seems to do the trick... nothing fancy.
I always rinse my training suits, tech suits, goggles, and cap in cold sink water after I swim and hang the suits dry. My training suits last longer than anyone elses, tech suits still stretch after a couple meets.
