Just thought I would start a thread which didn't have deep philosophical overtones so that we all can have fun with the new forum software. Based upon personal experience, I will start a list of “You know you are a swimmer when …” with the following:
You know you are a swimmer when you leave work in the rain and you can smell the chlorine coming off of your hair.
Anyone care to add to the list?

Good idea...
You know you are a swimmer when you own more than 3 suits and 5 pairs of goggles.
YKYAASW you swim best in 61 degree water.
YKYAASW you like being in the water during hailstorms.
YKYAASW you'd rather see a woman wearing a racing suit than a bikini.
YKYAASW you suffer all day at work, and then get in the pool for 4400 yards of pure unaduterated fun.
YKYAASW after dislocating your shoulder, you swim one-armed butterfly and freestyle to stay in shape (that's also how I got good at butterfly back in the day).
I don't wear a racing suit, because I am just not good enough to invest in that. But your post made me laugh, because at the Indy Nationals a while back, I went into the lockerroom, and two women were comparing their bruises from trying to get in and out of those suits!
You Know You're a Swimmer When....
Your bedroom starts to smell like chlorine, even though the floor is carpeted.
The smell of chlorine brings you more joy than the smell of freshly baked cookies.

I love swimming as much as the next person but come on, more joy than fresh bakes cookies!!! For me, it would depend on the cookie. For me,nothing better than hot chocolate chip.

Chlorine is a nostalgic smell for me - reminds me of the indoor pools I swam in as a youth. However, there is nothing like the smell of baking chocolate chip cookies! Ooh, but you shouldn't have brought that up - now I'm humgry!
Me and my big mouth. I was just being overly-enthuseastic with the last one.
I love chocolate chip cookies myself.
Let me reiterate:
You Know You're a Swimmer When, the smell of chlorine brings you the same joy as the smell of freshly baked Chocolate Chip Cookies.
