Hi!
I'm 16 years old and am swimming on my high school team. My main events are the 100 fly, 500 free, 100 free.
I'm 1:08 in 100 fly
6:03 in 500
1:00 in 100 free
I've been swimming on teams for a very long time. I was on a club team for about 5 years, but then quit. I hope that I will be able to be on a college team, but I'm not sure if I will be good enough by then. What do you think? What sort of times do I need to be able to swim in college?
You have some time left in high school to improve. Work hard, listen to your coaches, and see what you can do. You can strive to reach YOUR highest potential.
Your goal of swimming in college is pretty broad. If you want to get a scholarship to an NCAA Division I school it will be pretty hard - but I am not saying you cannot do it. If you want to be a walk on at a Division II or NAIA school it is easier. There is a lot of room in between.
See what you can do with your remaining high school years. You will never regret trying your best no matter the results - you will likely regret if you do not give it your best effort.
Good luck!
