  • An older thread on this topic mentions Centro Sportivo Santa Maria, on Via Boiardo as a good place. Has anyone been there recently, as I too will be in Rome this summer and am looking to keep training... That was probably my posting. I'm a member and swim there every fall for 3 months. It's a very decent pool and perhaps a tad cheaper than some of the others. I believe they accept casual visitors at 18 euros a swim (!) Members pay 12 euros for a single swim or a monthly subscription starting at 70 euros for lunchtimes only. There's no doubt about it — swimming in Rome is expensive! Most pools in Rome require you to have a doctor's certificate before they'll let you swim. I had my doc here scrawl out a one-liner on her professional stationary, which I translated with the help of Mr. Google, and that did the trick. Otherwise, you'll pay up to 150 euros to get a certificate there. Also, you'll need a swim cap (mandatory!) BTW, they also have a masters team, but I haven't investigated it as they practice at night, and I like to swim during the day.
