Getting my training plan together for Nationals and just wanted to poll others to see what you're doing as comparison. Thinking of periodization - breaking into 6-week training blocks with each one focusing on a particular area (strength, endurance, speed, etc)....Keeping yards in the 4500-6000 range for each workout, 5x week...incorporating some Dry Lands as well. Periodic in-season meets to gauge training. Any thoughts? How are others preparing?
Attending practice and focusing on technique while checking in with those who help me. Since I'm new to competitive swimming I also entered the local ymca circuit for meet practice.
I need to figure out DRYLAND and other stuff but I'm a busy mom, run my own business and help out with my club & Lmsc so I'm going to be star struck by the great masters swimmers and to have fun! And maybe impress myself( a little).
