Training Plan for Nationals

Getting my training plan together for Nationals and just wanted to poll others to see what you're doing as comparison. Thinking of periodization - breaking into 6-week training blocks with each one focusing on a particular area (strength, endurance, speed, etc)....Keeping yards in the 4500-6000 range for each workout, 5x week...incorporating some Dry Lands as well. Periodic in-season meets to gauge training. Any thoughts? How are others preparing?

  • Attending practice and focusing on technique while checking in with those who help me. Since I'm new to competitive swimming I also entered the local ymca circuit for meet practice. I need to figure out DRYLAND and other stuff but I'm a busy mom, run my own business and help out with my club & Lmsc so I'm going to be star struck by the great masters swimmers and to have fun! And maybe impress myself( a little).
