Getting my training plan together for Nationals and just wanted to poll others to see what you're doing as comparison. Thinking of periodization - breaking into 6-week training blocks with each one focusing on a particular area (strength, endurance, speed, etc)....Keeping yards in the 4500-6000 range for each workout, 5x week...incorporating some Dry Lands as well. Periodic in-season meets to gauge training. Any thoughts? How are others preparing?
From the end of the SCM season until 15wk before Nats I'll swim long slow stuff to give my knees and shoulders time to recover.I'll also do moderate weights.!5 wk out I will build intensity for 6 wk,very intense for 6 wk then 3 wk taper.
