Getting my training plan together for Nationals and just wanted to poll others to see what you're doing as comparison. Thinking of periodization - breaking into 6-week training blocks with each one focusing on a particular area (strength, endurance, speed, etc)....Keeping yards in the 4500-6000 range for each workout, 5x week...incorporating some Dry Lands as well. Periodic in-season meets to gauge training. Any thoughts? How are others preparing?

Both Leslie and I try to periodize the swim training towards Nationals. I'll start up a plan on the HVT thread in mid-December targeting towards Indy Nationals.
That swimming volume seems high if you're aiming for 200s and under ... and even more than enough for the distance stuff. If you have the time for it, go for it.
