Wow, they don't ever do that at our pool. When it's really cold the kickboards freeze together in the gutter!
I was surprised at first by this cold weather policy in Lee County, FL. One of the more memorable cold swimming moments for me was a January 5:00 AM practice in Stockton, CA where we were all standing around shivering in our parkas waiting for the Coach to open the pool gate where we could not even see the pool because of the steam (covers had just been pulled off by the staff). Someone said it was 29 degrees outside. All I know is that we would run from the heated trailer and jump in our lane ASAP!
