That little cottage pool looks to be 4-5 yards, with 1760 yards/mile and at approximately 10 yards per lap, that is certainly too many laps! Tethered swimming would be a possibility. Yes, the Sanibel Rec Center is an excellent facility. Although I live closer to Sanibel, than Estero, I swim at FCGU Aquatic Center for LCM and the bridge to Sanibel has a significant toll.
