How much did you "labor" on Labor Day?

So proud of myself - did 7800 today all in one workout :applaud:(check out my blog). How much did you swim today? :)
  • Now that's a good dad to have! He does a lot more that just that too...he's an all around handyman when it comes to getting stuff done. While it's good to have a nice career in an office, it's handy to be able to get the nitty gritty stuff done when needed as well, rather than "oh how am I going to be able to pay someone to do that?" My uncle used to say that quite a bit when stuff was going wrong at his house. Then he'd just call my dad. :)

  • Hi Celeste, I do double workouts on the weekends most of the time. If you had said how much did you "Labor" on Labor Day weekend, then that would be an entirely different story. Friday 4,200 (one workout) Saturday 7,500 (two workouts) 4,500 + 3,000 Sunday 7,000 (two workouts) 5,000 + 2,000 Monday 7,000 (two workouts) 5,000 + 2,000 I do go a little slower on the second workout, but not a whole lot. Swam my first 9,000 on 08/25/12, not going to repeat that anytime soon. That wiped me out. The Lifeguards were encouraging me to do another 1,000 to make it an even 10,000. I'll try for the 10,000 for my New Year's Day swim in 2013. I might be ready by then. That's all pool swimming, no open water. I am resting today, no swimming. Do you know where I can get at 10,000 workout? My biggest workout is 5,150. Regards,
  • I did absolutely nothing on Labor Day, but on Sunday I did a 41-mile relay swim as part of a four-person team composed of active duty military who are also mostly USMS members. We swam around the island of Jersey in the English Channel. We even got in the news: www.thisisjersey.com/.../

Most impressive! originally posted by Bill Sive Swam my first 9,000 on 08/25/12, not going to repeat that anytime soon. That wiped me out. I do very similarly - I frequently will do 10,000 in two workouts on NYEve - and the majority of my workouts are 4500-5000 yards/meters. The longest thing I race is the 500!! Well ok, once I did the 800. Seriously, I'm not sure why I like to go such distances, but I seriously do! You sound like you have a lot of time on the weekends to do what you like!
  • I didn't swim but I did count pills for four hours, then after mowing the lawn I went on a nice motorcycle ride with my neighbor, who just got his license. :bliss: Last night the kids beat me in monopoly. :(
  • Way to go jethro! :applaud: I wanted to see the story, however, the link doesn't work without a password. Oops. It helps if I don't attach a link to a message in my email account. lol Fixed!
