How do goggles get scratched?
They're generally only in contact with water.

I can't stand when my goggles are anything less than clean. They more than likely will not get scratched from your swimming, unless you take them off your head and put them on the deck during kick sets or something. I always put mine in a protective case, sometimes that case is nothing more than the plastic package they were packaged in when I bought them. I will cut air holes in the package so they can breathe in my bag. I won't let them sit in my hot vehicle either during the day, as that breaks down the plastic. I try to never use my thumbs to defog, only my tongue.
If you don't want them scratched, then take care of them as you would with eyeglasses. YMMV.
