2012 Short Course World Championships are in Istanbul, December 12-16.

Selection meets for Team USA were Olympic Trials, the Olympic Games, and the US Open. Those were all long course meets which did not contest the 50 stroke events, the 100 IM, the men's 800 free, or the women's 1500 free. USA Swimming's selection procedures for the non-Olympic events do not even mention the 100 IM:

You guys know that Istanbul is in the run to host the Olympic Games in 2020...
They have a good shot if they do not get EURO or Expo (now THAT, you can google if it helps).
So folks, better learn where this beautiful city is located on the planet!

I had no idea that this thread would go so far sideways just because I didn't add ", Turkey" to the thread title. So from now on I will make sure NEVER to qualify place names. Instead I will simply count the train cars as they derail and pile up all over this forum. :bliss:
