200 Free, 200 Fly, 400 IM (which he swore he would never do again). Anyone doubt he'll make the team in the 100 Fly & 200 IM?
That's 5 individual events. He'll be on the 800 FR for sure. As one of the top 2 flyers, he will be on the 400 MR and as coaches choice, we assume will get a spot on the 400 FR.
Seriously, it's doable and I think that's what he is striving for. No way he would have endured the 400 IM unless 8/8 is his objective.

Phelps scratched the 200 back, which isn't surprising. Lochte is still in the 200 back, going for the crazy 2back/2IM double just as he did in Beijing.
I have no doubt that Phelps will make the team in the 200 IM. The 100 fly is not a slam dunk but it's hard to pick out TWO guys who I think will beat him.
Rather than USA vs. Country X, this Olympics is sounding like Phelps vs. Lochte. In any case, the winner will be more real than 2008, without the hi-tech suits.
There are likely to be very many healthy attractive single athletes at the Games.
Here's 100 Hottest Female Olympians of 2012
Rice was #3
A friend of mine who made the 1984 team, had a great time at the Games and some amazing stories about LA's night life. He said after his events were done, he showed up at several bars several times wearing his Olympic sweats and had to deal with many beautiful women hitting on him.
My guess is because of security issues, 2012 Olympians will need to remain in the Olympic villiage most of the time.
I knew 4 guys from those games. I'm certain one in particular (a Gold medalist) used every Olympic angle possible for nefarious purposes with the opposite sex. I've intentionally never asked him about the social aspects of the L.A. games because I don't want to hear the sordid details.
The Russians and French also have some good 100 freestylers... That 400 FR should be a real barn burner for medals (here are the times from their respective Olympic Trials and their combined flat start times);
Aussies (3:11.58)
James Magnussen 47.10
James Roberts 47.63
Matt Targett 48.32
Eamon Sullivan 48.53
French (3:13.73)
Yannick Agnel 48.02
Fabien Gilot 48.38
Clement Lefert 48.64
Amaury Levaux 48.69
Russians (3:13.89)
Danila Izotov 48.27
Nikita Lobintsev 48.39
Andrey Grechin 48.44
Vladimir Morozov 48.79
So far, the top 4 times out of semi's for the US men combined would be a 3:14.37 (just the semi's so far, and that's without a leg swum by Phelps).
We'll see how much faster they get tonight.

He might make 8 events but he's very unlikely to win 8 golds.
Lochte's looking awesome & the aussies have 4 very fast 100 freestylers
I predict they will be distracted by the picture of Stephanie Rice in her bikini. :D

Yeah, Jazz told me the same things in Greensboro. Did he tell you how he still wears those Adidas sweats to cougar clubs?
