"Snubbed" is such a joke. I find it ridiculous that the winner feels obligated to receive congratulations from other competitors, but I haven't competed in any triathlons, so maybe I shouldn't comment. Does the winner always wait for the next few finishers? I swam a 5K last year and shook the hands of a couple guys around me, but it wouldn't have been a big deal either way. The same goes to pool competitions...I'll usually look to neighboring lanes in finals, but it totally depends on the circumstances.
In some sports, it is a tradition to shake hands after the game. I remember Lebron ducked out on a hand-shaking once.
