So here's a crazy idea for relay exchanges for swimming.. Lay a towel right by the deck so when the swimmer is finishing his leg, the guy going next does a running start and dives right off the deck.
Is it legal?

That sounds like fun. Just don't mistime it and land on the guy in the water!
With the right pool setup doing a start from the diving board might be fun, too. Bonus points for the 3 meter board.
I've done "racing dives" from the 1 meter springboard playing around while I was working at the college pool years ago. Takes a lot of practice to get the timing right to get the right linear distance and angle though. A lot of the time you'll end up over rotating though, and this can be painful :bitching:
