Legal relay exchange?

So here's a crazy idea for relay exchanges for swimming.. Lay a towel right by the deck so when the swimmer is finishing his leg, the guy going next does a running start and dives right off the deck. Is it legal?

  • That sounds like fun. Just don't mistime it and land on the guy in the water! With the right pool setup doing a start from the diving board might be fun, too. Bonus points for the 3 meter board. I've done "racing dives" from the 1 meter springboard playing around while I was working at the college pool years ago. Takes a lot of practice to get the timing right to get the right linear distance and angle though. A lot of the time you'll end up over rotating though, and this can be painful :bitching:
