Legal relay exchange?

So here's a crazy idea for relay exchanges for swimming.. Lay a towel right by the deck so when the swimmer is finishing his leg, the guy going next does a running start and dives right off the deck. Is it legal?

  • Yeah, I took my three-year-old grandson to his swim lesson yesterday. The key point I made with him was never, ever, ever run on the pool deck. Allowing it in competition will spoil any respect he has for his grandpa. :cane: "Look, Grandpa. The big kids run on the pool deck!" :D S We do of course set out the long non-slip mats prior to our running starts at the Alumni Meet... and I tell my kids as well, "no running on the pool deck" when we go to swim lessons.
