From the original article link: ... "I wore a Speedo when I was in my twenties," he told the New York Daily News. "But come on! There should be a law prohibiting anyone over the age of 50 from wearing a Speedo." The trunks, which leave so little to the imagination, have gained something akin to a cult status - by turns celebrated and derided as "banana hammocks", "lolly bags" and "budgie smugglers".... I think that is pretty funny. Yep... if you got the goods to pull it off (either gender), I say wear whatever is legal if you want... and I agree about the double standard issue. And I too have not been able to figure out how jammers are an improvement to Speedos in regards to being revealing. I'm over 50 and I like my Speedo style suit, made of a "tan-through" style mesh fabric. They are very durable, and they dry fast. I sometimes get concerned looks, but I get compliments too sometimes. "Board Shorts" are usually the uniform for male guards these days... but females are allowed the more bikini style, etc. That first image in the photo reference is an excellent example. At my pool the female lifeguards always have to wear some sort of shorts (regulation color)... so no matter if it is bikini or a one-piece style suit... so it levels the field there a bit. Board Shorts are required for the guys, and everyone has to wear a uniform shirt. But yeah, really!... who cares what they are wearing?... as long as they can do the job and save a life! ;)
