The 500 free seems like an outlier, but I wonder about the general trend of increasing with distance (which seems intuitive) but then decreasing?
It's even more interesting when you consider Grant Hackett's 1500 free record is the only "pre suit" record left standing. Certainly doesn't "prove" anything, but it is interesting.
